As the new season approaches, we are taking our time to get everything ready for the many trips ahead in Klettsvik during this summer. One of the things we have had in the back of our minds was the design of a logo that could represent the spirit of Kayak & Puffins: a fun and entertaining experience.
Obviously, we had little experience in logo design. Luckily, we have met very interesting and creative people in our way to Vestmannaeyjar. One of those curious minds have been Inês de Sena Amaral da Cunha. We met her while working as naturalists / wildlife guides at Elding Adventures at Sea, a leading whale watching company in Iceland.
Inês is a passionate biologist, specialized in ecology, environment and conservation. She has experience as marine mammal observer and in the conservation field with many institutions (Seawatch Foundation, Whale Museum-Madeira or Blue World Institute) which has led to the publication of a scientific article titled “Marine traffic and potential impacts towards cetaceans within the Madeira EEZ“.
She is not only extremely intelligent and an advocate for nature conservation, but she is quite a talented artist! She is currently enrolled in a Master in Illustration and Animation. Her collaborations with Elding, Cetus project or Náttúrustofa Suðurlands have resulted in the design of merchandise, stickers and other products which have helped to raise funds for environmental projects.
Her creativity has flowed to her own personal brand: Limbocraft. In her facebook page, you will find the latest updates and you can also access and purchase her products in the Etsy platform. We personally love “Paco the Puffin“. Her strong background linked to biology and conservation has motivated her to use recycled and sustainable materials in all her designs, combining them with funny and imaginative compositions.
Thanks for your help Inês!
